I worked through that time, went through some rough spots and big changes, and came out (hopefully) a better person. About the time I was on the upswing, I got my hair chopped off. At my longest, I had hair past the middle of my back. Then I got it cut to about an inch long. Wow!
I felt at the time like all of that angst and sadness and confusion had grown into my long hair and by cutting it off, I let it all go. What a relief.
My hair is still short now, though chin length in front, and I will never go back to long hair. For me, it's as if keeping it short helps me stay on top of things, keeps things fresh and clean, helps me to not get complacent. It's freeing and wonderful.
I would submit to anyone that a lot of who you are and your life is in your hair, long, short or in between. If you feel you're due for a change in life, consider changing that staple of your appearance. That one deliberate act may just help :)
You know I do this frequently...case in point my current short, spiky and pink hair. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, I saw. Very cool. I do think a certain style can fit a season of your life, and though mine may change here and there, I am pretty happy with short in the back, longer in the front. It just fits so well.
